March is "marching" in!
At least I hope it is. Mother Nature has certainly made my first winter back in the Midwest memorable. Every week another ice storm, followed by snow and cold temps. Other places have it worse, so I’m trying not to complain -- too much.
I got the cover for Touched by Love, and it is fabulous! Drop by my website, www.tracygarrett.com and click on BOOKS to take a peak.
This past weekend I participated in a two-day conference at my alma mater, Illinois Wesleyan University, in Bloomington. The focus of the conference was women supporting women. Dozens of alums gave of their time and expertise to mentor young women currently attending the University. I was honored to be among the presenters. I shared a little of what it was like to change my career from musician to corporate professional to writer. Three others on the panel spoke on their experiences changing careers and changing locations, while trying to maintain our sanity! The weekend was wonderful and uplifting, and I’m looking forward to next year.
March 17 ~ Zebra Historical Authors Day at CataRomance
Mark your calendars if you are in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. The Dreamin’ in Dallas Conference for writers is Saturday, April 5. On Friday night, April 4, I will be signing, along with nearly 40 other authors, at the Dreamin’ in Dallas Booksigning, from 7-9pm, in the Ballroom at the Southfork Hotel (not the ranch!) in Plano, Texas. For more information, go to www.dallasromanceauthors.com/conferences. A portion of the proceeds from the booksigning will go to support the Collin County Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build.
The date is set and the tickets will go on sale soon for the 3rd Annual Buns & Roses Tea for Adult Literacy, in Richardson, Texas. On October 12, 2008, join me and more than two dozen other authors for this fun-filled afternoon. There will be good food, great books, prizes and raffles baskets, lots of laughter and, of course, tea. This year’s guest speaker is the incomparable Sherrilyn Kenyon.
Be sure to stop by Fresh Fiction and register for my March contest, "Beat the ‘Isn't It Spring Yet?’ Blues" The prize includes a Barnes & Noble gift card.
Make it a wonderful March and HAPPY EASTER!
